Apple Apple TV 4.1 next to iOS 4.2 today for the roll-out perfect harmony AirPlay (update: it's alive)

Paul Miller posted on Nov 22 2010 2: 21 PM
Macworld is reporting that Apple promising roll out (finally!) Apple TV 4.1 at the same time iOS 4.2 hits, at about 1 PM Eastern today (about nowish). Sure, we could hit some obstacles last minute, but we want to believe.Especially after we have reviewed the new versions of software on our iPad leasing-on-new life, sandblasting AirPlay video around the House as she was going out of style. in addition to being able to play video for Apple TV from iTunes equipped PC or iOS-based device, the new AppleTV software adds support for voiceover to voice menu and meta data.

Update:Is alive, we are downloading now and basically just having the time of our lives!

Plex arrives on jailbroken Apple TV (video)

Boxee could have all the attention, but Plex is undoubtedly one of our favorite Mac Media Center apps. You then wide-eyed with interest that we told the client Plex, making its first steps shy on Apple TV platform. Of course, not behind the initiative to replace the UI 10-foot "Lowtide" own Apple--Cupertino this work was done by the community of jailbreak Apple TV. Generating ATV2 is still only a proof of concept, so for now is buggy and limited for video playback (no managing music, pictures or app). But hey, it's another iOS app for ATV2 and works as evidenced by the video after the break. Man, that we're getting everyone buzzing at the thought of scattering around the House boxes $ 99 to serve the wide variety of codecs supported by Plex besides more limited AirPlay of Apple.

Some users of Apple TV reporting wacky problems with Sony, Philips colour TV

Doesn't seem to be particularly widespread, but a substantial number of reports is cropping on the official Apple support forum of some issues pretty wild affecting the new Apple TV when coupled with some Sony and Philips TV. As you can see above, these problems may include a combination of rather unpleasant pastel (apparently common on TV Philips), while others are also reporting inverted colors and green or black screens. As for Apple, at least some users who contact the company on the issue say is aware of the problem, but early reports from those who have applied the Apple TV 2.1 update suggest that have not yet resolved the issue yet. Apple TV has hired a new shade? Let us know in the comments and control a psychedelic video issue after the break.

[Thanks, Bea]
