: hold your horses, Bubsy. While it seemed that there were but few is a dot and t to traverse before acquisition of Comcast's NBC Universal was official, people in high places are now shaking their heads in a recent decision by the carrier. As the story goes, Comcast and NBC Universal are still in talks with the Government over the proposed acquisition, and it seems that some threads were crossed in recent days; Comcast decided to announce a new management slate for NBC Universal a few days ago, despite the fact that the acquisition has not actually been lit in green. According to an internal report over at the New York Times, one unnamed official in Washington had this to say: "For a deal of this great and one that has not been approved, the behavior of Comcast is presumptuous and arrogant." Of course, it's not like this trigger-pulling in and of itself is reason for the whole thing to collapse, but certainly does not make things or society. So much for taking those new roles (and accompanying raises) before Turkey day, huh?
Sony said it was coming and coming one has. Just in time for expatriated Americans basking in the glory of payment in pounds sterling to enjoy "Thanksgiving", Sony has flipped the switch of its on demand movie service of Qriocity. The launch of UK European marks the debut of the service (we're also hearing that is as «around Europe»), which offers "hundreds" of streaming pay-per-view flicks to those with a BRAVIA TV network-enabled, Blu-ray home theater system or Blu-ray. We're told that the library consists of material from Fox Home Entertainment, Lions, MGM, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, Starz Digital Media, The Walt Disney Company, NBC Universal, Warner Bros., with new versions and trumpeted classics grabs. Rental Prices for SD content from £ 2.49 for library content and £ 3.49 for new versions, while beginning HD content respectively from £ 3.49 and £ 4.49. Not exactly free, but it is a small price to pay to keep that keister planted on the day of Turkey. Debut
Doesn't seem to be particularly widespread, but a substantial number of reports is cropping on the official Apple support forum of some issues pretty wild affecting the new Apple TV when coupled with some Sony and Philips TV. As you can see above, these problems may include a combination of rather unpleasant pastel (apparently common on TV Philips), while others are also reporting inverted colors and green or black screens. As for Apple, at least some users who contact the company on the issue say is aware of the problem, but early reports from those who have applied the Apple TV 2.1 update suggest that have not yet resolved the issue yet. Apple TV has hired a new shade? Let us know in the comments and control a psychedelic video issue after the break.
Onkyo AM has a knack for deploying kit again with a semblance of yesteryear in the design and we've got to say--we dig it. Later the company are designed for small offices, apartments, studio and room every day, with the CS-V 645/CD mini art system. This guy has an iPod/iPhone docking station on top, a USB port on the front, built-in FM radio tuner and support for file formats MP3, WMA, JPEG and DivX. It'll also upscale content to 1080p over HDMI output, and in case you were worried about getting up each time to change the station, a remote control for good measure. CS-445 only CD is practically identical except for its incompatibility with DVD and removing its grip, but as with his older brother, boasts a 40-Watt amplifier and a pair of two-way speakers. CS-V 645 is expected crash in early December for $ 399, while the CS-445 reaches retailers this month for $ 329.
: content provider might ban Google TV left, right and centre but hardware partners don't seem to lose any enthusiasm. After Samsung openly admitted to contemplate a HDTV with Google TV hardware and software built right, Toshiba and Vizio are now said to have intention to introduce new products at CES in January of 2011. While neither manufacturer would be drawn in confirming this last bit of inside information, Toshiba GM American Jeff Barney, is quoted as saying: "Google certainly is for us a key partner PC side and will probably be the key for us TV side as well." Otherwise how could experience Google as a partner function key TV that with its connection web TV?
